As the largest town in the region, Dodgeville offers convenient access to fishing spots within a 30-minute drive. The town has many major amenities and provides great access to Governor Dodge State Park. For lodging, the Best Western is a solid choice. Dining options include Bob’s Bitchin’ BBQ and Corralejo Mexican Grill.
Fennimore, WI
Located approximately 15 minutes from most fishing locations, Fennimore is the closest town for accommodation. It is a small community with a gas station and a grocery store. Recommended lodging is the Fenway House Hotel. For dining, consider the Cottonwood Supper Club and Tower Junction.
Mineral Point, WI
Mineral Point is an excellent option for those seeking small-town charm, particularly if traveling with a companion who may not be fishing. It is about a 30-minute drive from fishing locations and is close to many natural attractions and shopping. Accommodation can be found at Commerce Street Brewery and Hotel. Popular dining spots include the Midway Bar & Grill and Cafe 43 Coffeehouse.
Mt. Horeb, WI
Closest to Madison, Mt. Horeb combines small-town charm with easy access to the city. Fishing opportunities are available within a 15 to 40-minute drive, depending on your preferences. The GrandStay Hotel is a comfortable lodging choice. For dining, Brix Cider and the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub are crowd favorites.
